Miratlas to Present Latest Results at Photonics West

January 17, 2026 - January 22, 2026

We are thrilled to announce that Miratlas will be participating in Photonics West, specifically in the Free-Space Laser Communications conference. Jean-Edouard Communal, along with Frédéric Jabet and Marin Fouchier, will be presenting the latest results from their research.

Talk Details:

  • Title: First results of a daytime turbulence monitoring campaign with eight SHABAR profilers, and performance analysis and upgrade of the C-DIMM nighttime monitor
  • Authors: Frédéric Jabet, Marin Fouchier, Jean-Edouard Communal, Miratlas (France)
  • Date and Time: 21 January 2026 • 5:29 PM – 5:46 PM PST

In this talk, we will share valuable insights from a measurement campaign conducted with SHABAR profilers across eight sites in Europe over more than a year. We will also present the qualification and validation campaign for the C-DIMM, a nighttime turbulence monitor, and compare it to a single aperture image motion monitor and an astronomy DIMM based on a C11 telescope.

At Photonics West, we look forward to engaging with industry leaders, researchers, and engineers to discuss the future of free-space laser communications. Stay tuned for more updates on our presentation and the groundbreaking work we will be showcasing at the conference.
