Free-space Quantum Communications

From September 9th to 10th, the Instituto de Telecomunicações in Lisbon, located at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), will host the second workshop of the PTQCI Portuguese Quantum Communication Infrastructure project. The event, titled “Free-space Quantum Communications Workshop,” will focus on the latest advancements and research in quantum communication.
More specifically, the workshop will focus on the topic of free-space quantum communication, an important topic for airborne and space-based quantum communication. Today, space-based quantum communication plays an important role in the development of a future global quantum communication network. In this context, new theoretical protocols and experimental methods must be developed.
